To celebrate International Mother Earth Day this year, Oyez!Books is organizing the Harmony With Nature Photo Contest on Facebook from 22 April to 14 May. All you have to do is upload your best photo that reflects the theme "Harmony with Nature" together with a short description and the location where the photo was taken. Pustaka Bookaroo Festival of Children’s Literature is happening soon! Bookaroo Literature Festival was started in India in 2008 with a mission of "bringing books, children, writers, and everyone who loves books together to celebrate the joy of reading". The festival has grown from strength to strength, winning the International Excellence Awards 2017 at the recent London Book Fair. The Malaysia edition of this excellent festival is happening from 22-23 April at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak in Kuching. The weekend will be packed with storytelling, crafts, doodling and workshops for children from 4 up to 12 years of age, featuring a lineup of international and local authors, illustrators, storytellers and more. From 3.00-4.00pm, Sunday, 11 December at Silverfish Books, Bangsar Village 2, there will be a double treat as Heidi Shamsuddin and Lim Lay Koon take turns to share two very different but equally entertaining tales. From 3.00-3.30pm, Heidi takes you on another adventure with Joe, Emil and Hanna, the time-travelling trio from her popular The Door Under the Stairs series. In the latest book, The Case of The House At No. 74, the three children meet the courageous Sybil Kathigasu, the only Malayan woman to receive the George Medal for bravery. From 3.30-4.00pm, Lay Koon will regale you with the story of Pip, the young pangolin who just couldn't roll into a ball! The year-end school holidays are back! A great way to spend an afternoon will be to join Oyez!Books Storytime sessions happening from 10-11 December 2016, 3.00 - 4.00pm at Silverfish Books, Bangsar Village 2. Kicking off the weekend from 3.00-4.00pm, 10 December, roar and stomp with Peter Worthington as he shares the story of Terry, the dinosaur who just wouldn't share. Then have lots of fun making and hatching your own dinosaur egg! Based on the lovely picture book Do Dinosaurs Share? written by Feng-Feng Hutchins and illustrated by Fengyi Lai. Admission is FREE.
