Come meet Yusof Gajah, Emila Yusof, Aizil from Creative United and the Oyez!Books team on Illustrators Day, happening at 3.00pm on 11 September 2016, at Silverfish Books, 2nd Floor, Bangsar Village II.
To summarise, activities will include (but not limited to): 1. Malaysian children’s books in Bahasa and English will be on sale with special promotions; 2. Storytelling sessions for children (timetable for activities to be announced soon); 3. Art and craft activities for children (timetable for activities to be announced soon) 4. Children’s storytelling competition (ages 5 to 8); 5. Children’s writing competition (ages 9 to 12). Running from 16-17 April at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak in Kuching, it promises to be an exciting affair with a lineup of international and local authors, illustrators, storytellers and more. With the theme Bringing Children and Books Together, the weekend will be packed with storytelling, crafts, doodling, poetry and art workshops for children from 4 up to 12 years of age. This event is truly something for parents, children, teachers, educators and just about anyone who is interested in promoting books and reading for children, to look forward to. Speakers at the event come from far and wide such as India, Singapore, and Australia. From Malaysia, five Oyez!Books authors/ illustrators will also be participating at the event! They are :

Batik artist and educator, Zakiah Mohd Isa, will be on hand to conduct batik painting activities. Using the designs of her husband, Yusof Gajah, she has painted and sewn banners, clothes, bags, scarves and more using the batik mehod. Bring your family and friends for a fun and educational time.
